Featured Radio Interview with Cancare
I was grateful for the opportunity to be interviewed on a recent Cantonese radio program with CanCare, where I shared about piano playing, music therapy, and the ways music can support memory, learning, emotional well-being, and connection across all stages of life. During the interview, I spoke about using music to support autistic children, elderly people living with dementia, and families in everyday life. I also shared the personal story behind writing music to a Bible verse for my father during his cancer journey, along with my latest original worship song, Light of Life. I hope the music and conversation may bring encouragement, comfort, hope, and strength to those who listen.

"My son and daughter have been learning the piano from Winnie since the beginning of 2025. Since starting with Winnie, they have demonstrated noticeable improvements not just in their learning, techniques, but also their skills in their overall playing. Winnie's warm approach helps put them at ease at every lesson and the rapport she has built instantly has really helped with motivating their playing. Both of them now play not just for exams, but also pieces that they enjoy. I would not hesitate to recommend Winnie to anyone who needs a piano teacher/ accompanist."
- Parent of two teenage piano students
"Our daughter has been taking piano lessons for over 2 months now and she is really enjoying it. From the very first lesson, Winnie was able to build a great rapport with her even though she tends to be shy with new people and environment. Winnie got her to enjoy playing the piano and have fun while practicing each day. Even if she is not in the mood to practice, she gets her to change the name of the songs or the words to something that is of interest to her at that moment. In this short time, I have seen her become confident to show her skills to her friends and family. Winnie has a tremendous amount of patience and always shares positive feedback and improvements required after each class with me. This enables me to motivate her by reminding her of her strengths as we practice on the skills that need improvement during the week. Winnie is an amazing teacher with patience, kindness and an amazing ability to teach important skills while still making class fun!"
- Parent of a young piano student
"As parents, we cannot recommend Winnie highly enough. She has been teaching our autistic child piano for six years, and the joy she brings to their lessons is undeniable - our child literally looks forward to seeing her every single week! Winnie’s amazing patience and unique gift for making learning fun are incredible. What truly sets her apart is how carefully she tailors every session, ensuring our child is engaged and thriving. It has been a truly special journey watching our child develop a love for music under Winnie’s expert and caring guidance. Thank you so much for everything you do for our son."
- Parent of a neurodivergent piano student
"Winnie has such a warm, positive way, and a lovely connection is starting to build. Her ideas and guidance around encouraging communication through music have been so refreshing and helpful for us. She’s also given great practical tips for playtime, making it feel more joyful and engaging for us as parents. We’ve seen a huge amount of progress in our child."
- Parent of a neurodivergent child (early intervention)
"Thank you Winnie for enabling Mum to preserve her dignity as a retired German diction coach for opera students, and also sang to Mum beautifully during her final days."
