Welcome to Joyous Sound
This work is grounded in a deep belief in the power of music to support growth, connection, and joy across the lifespan.
As a special needs family, we understand both the challenges and the quiet beauty of walking alongside individuals with unique needs. This lived experience shapes our strength-based approach – one that honours each person as they are and supports them to grow in their own way.
At the heart of Joyous Sound is a simple guiding philosophy: to serve others with humility, care, deep respect, and always placing the needs of those we work with at the centre of what we do.
If you are seeking a space where you or your child can feel understood, supported, and gently encouraged to flourish, you are warmly welcome here.

I collaborate closely with families, educators, and allied health professionals to support communication, emotional regulation, learning, and wellbeing through music.
Approach & Values
I am passionate about using music to foster communication, confidence, emotional expression, and meaningful connection.
I value culturally responsive practice and collaborative music-making, including community-based programs such as choirs and group music experiences.
Personal Context
As a parent of an autistic child, I bring both professional expertise and lived experience to my practice, shaping a strengths-based, family-centred approach.
Approach
Each session is thoughtfully shaped around the individual, guided by their strengths, needs, and interests. Drawing on musicianship, therapeutic practice, and lived experience, I support musical growth, wellbeing, and meaningful engagement through music.
Rather than following a fixed method, sessions respond to the person in the moment, balancing structure with flexibility. By building attuned and trusting relationships, I aim to create a safe and supportive space where individuals can explore, express themselves, and grow with confidence.

As a mother of both a neurotypical and neurodivergent child, I hold a deep desire to see each person accepted for who they are and supported to flourish in their own way. This is the same care and intention I bring to every individual and family I work with.
